The MTS Conference on Financial Markets Programme

The first MTS Conference on
Financial Markets, in collaboration with the
Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), was
held at Toulouse University, Toulouse,
France on June 26 - 28, 2003. This conference
discussed research papers that have been selected
in response to the call for empirical,
theoretical and experimental papers analyzing
financial markets.
The purpose of this conference was to foster the development
of financial economics research in Europe. These papers will
form part of a series of working papers to be disseminated to
academics and practitioners.
Along with the presentation of research papers, the conference
featured several events aimed at stimulating interaction between
academics and practitioners. A round table discussion was devoted
to current developments in European financial markets. There
was also a live presentation of the MTS Market and its workings
as well as a description of the on-line trading stimulator that
is now available for teaching purposed to universities.
